The reviewers lack of understanding the game is sad. WW2OL is not a standard FPS. Nor for that matter the staff here. A staff poster comparing WW2OL to PS in the saying "WW2OL is like planetside just in a diff time frame" Sad and pathic. Add in the fact the WW2OL came out years before PS its easy to see these reviews have no clue.
As a combat soldier WW2OL is the most realistic battlefield short of going to one in real life. In some respects it provides better training then the army does. I've played just about every FPS out there and quit them because I take no fun in killing noobs and ctned

Clipsco, You have so many wrong concepts in your words that i think that you didnt spend more than 20 minutes in the WWIIOL...

This is the most real game you can find in the market, combining Action and Strategy.

Please read some concepts here, specially the kind of realism you can find in the game

PS: You dont need 2 for a tank, you can run it by yourself

Don't let this clown sway your ideas about a game.

Spend more then 20 minutes playing the game and link up with a squad, then you will find out how the game ACTUALLY is.

The reviewer 'Clipsco Ocspilc' obviously played Battleground Europe for at least 20 minutes before giving up.

Over the 20 years or so that I've been playing computer games only BE has sustained my interest for more than a few days. I've been playing BE for over four years and I learn something new every day.

It's certainly not an easy game with a steep learning curve. But perhaps that's BE's attraction, its depth is unrivaled by any other game on the market.

As other pointed out, until you spent at least half a year learning WWIIOL, dont judge. It is not a quick action, shoot'em all and (bunny) hop away thingie. It has its flaws, but then which games hasn't. I like it, you dont, thats fine with me.

One thing about WWII OL is that, unlike the games mentioned here, it does not 'hold your hand' while you play. WWII OL offers something the other games don't offer; a total immersive experience.

You really thought you were playing a game ? It's a concept for a new era of simulators, the one developing real teamplay skills along the members, the one bringing together both 70+ and childs of 12 years old, the one that you join but never leave.

It's still in beta since 2001. The day it's ready... it'll be ready.
And your eyes will be opened. Or not.

...for players with the maturity to be interested in a *war* game. There are plenty of other games for players who just want an easy fantasy shooter experience. No other commercially available game can compare to the present development state of WWIIOL as an immersive simulation-game of integrated ground and air fighting...and it keeps getting better and better, year after year.

No, really?!
Anyhow...tell me your game name, come back online and as Trainer i can run you through every weapon and vehicle type that is on the game and teach you how to be proficient in each. This game is all about patience, if you don't have it,don't try playing.I specialise in Anti-Tank Gunning, i often find myself sitting in a bush for over an hour awaiting an Enemy Tank to drive past whilst a battle can rage all around me,when that tank finally drives past and you take that shot, your heart is in your mouth, it's an adrenaline rush, you hit him right he's dead,u screw up u die.
