The average age of players is currently 30.2 years old. You got the picture.

This is everyhting but not ugly graphics. Some RTS (which may be more compared to WWIIOL then FPS environments) got much more ugly graphics.

You're right that some players have had a lame behaviour in your other article, but you must understand that everybody expect much of this game in the future, and your article just insult all the efforts done and all the dreams put in the concept.

What also make players angry is that your article has almost been copy/paste in a famous game magazine in dutchland. It doesn't deserve such a poor comparison to other FPS and MMOG's. It is unique.

About the game, you should know that they don"t have more then 10 developpers with the required skills to contribute to the improvement of the game.

10... and they're still here developping a concept that even microsoft or EA games don't dare to immitate : Because such a large world with such a complex physic engine would be too expensive to create from scratch. Technically, it's the best virtual environment you can find in MMOG's.

It's a great idea to see you test the game again after 6 years. However you should not expect too much of it right now.

Today or tomorrow the new version 1.27 will be released, and which will contain new gameplay rules. Gameplay rules you won't find anywhere else and that you won't be able to learn in 14 days. All our current veterans will become newbies again, and this week will be made of testings and whinings, and maybe urgent fixes due to release bugs. You'll take part to a kind of live beta, please remain aware of this.

Version 1.27 is expected to be released tomorrow morning, Texas time. That's 27 generations of game development, with new objects and weapons, new code, new gameplay...much of it made possible by player computers becoming progressively more powerful over the past six years. All of it has been free of any additional charges beyond the basic subscription.

It says alot that you have chosen to give this game another go.Say the graphics today as atrocious as that of 2001 is a gross exageration. Yes they need improvement (updated engine in development)but considering the scale of the map, anything on par with the prettier games out there would be unplayable without a very costly pc.

Yes this game is difficult, but if you actively seek help on the live server, you will receive it and likely be invited to join a squad. It is always a challenge. Fight alone, die alone, and quickly.

I'm not an official spokesman or anything, but I've been around the game and an active community participant with the Rats in the game's design/development process for 6+ years. If you've got questions that you can't get answered elsewhere, email me.

1. In fairness, WWIIOL does have a steep learning curve, and it *is* a game for players who want a realistically immersive combat experience. The average player age is significantly higher than for the average game, and many players have military experience. Player-group tactical operations are effective, so maturity is useful. It's not at all a competitor for the basic killfest shooters.
2. Ask in-game for squads to take you along on organized operations.

(evil max 600 letter count, grr)
...go axis and if im on ill personally help you for hours at a time. WWIIOL is still a work in progress, and if you dont think it deserves a good review, then it at least deserves a fair one. my point is, if you hate the game you don't have to stay, if you want to learn people will help, especially me. you have my emial, just ask for help. S!

if a player dies in real life we mourn them for example. but thats not my point, my point is this game isnt easy, and it takes weeks, not weeks, MONTHS to become good at it. ive been playing since aug of 06 and im still learning things, and ive finally found my expertise as a StuG commander. some poeple are good at lots of things, im good at many things but i still prefer tanking because thats my niche in the communitie thats a niche in itself. if you hate this game becuase its "hard", then ask for help, go axis and if im on ill help you personally for hours a tim
