Article: Bad News for PS3
Blu-ray issue leads Sony to announce reduced delivery of PS3 consoles for Japan and North America. Europe delivery delayed four months. Sony Corp. has announced it will only be able to deliver half the number of forecasted PS3 consoles for the Japan and North America markets. In addition, the PS3 entry into Europe will be delayed four months. The reason for the delay is the difficulty in producing the blu-ray DVD components which are an integral part of the console, something that sets it apart from Microsoft's XBox 360. As anticipated, Sony stock fell as a result of this announcement.? More on Bloomberg .

Yeah, I have a feeling getting a PS3 is going to be harder then getting the PS2 on release day. No pre-orders, it will probably go back to First come first serve.

On a side note, talking to a sales rep at Target, he said that their HD DVD decks had a 50% return rate, due to problems with the decks.
